The Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE) is proud to announce that Crossref, a leading global organization supporting open and reliable scholarly infrastructure, has officially joined ACSE as a corporate member.

It’s a recognition of strategic opportunities for our organisations to work together towards advancing accessibility, visibility, and trust in research across the global scholarly communication ecosystem.

“We are delighted to welcome Crossref to the ACSE community. Their work in building open infrastructure aligns strongly with our mission to strengthen editorial practices, improve research integrity, and enhance access to knowledge globally,” said  Maryam Sayab, Executive Director at ACSE.

“We are excited to join ACSE as a member. We look forward to connecting with the editorial community in Asia and supporting them in adopting good metadata practices,” said Madhura Amdekar, Community Engagement Manager at Crossref.

Through this membership, ACSE and Crossref aim to foster:

  • Stronger regional engagement between publishers, editors, and research communities in Asia and beyond.
  • Greater visibility of scholarly outputs through persistent identifiers and metadata infrastructure.
  • Collaboration on educational and capacity-building initiatives, helping journals adopt best practices in research integrity and discoverability.

As ACSE continues to expand its collaborations     with global infrastructure leaders, Crossref’s membership      will support its vision of connecting global solutions with local publishing communities, promoting more open, equitable, and transparent research practices.
